GEN Admin — AI assistant for WordPress administration
Connect a private assistant to your store and manage products, orders, customers, categories, and blog posts from WordPress. Every change is shown as a reviewable draft and applied only after confirmation.
What is GEN Admin?
GEN Admin is a private AI widget for store employees. The WordPress plugin places it over administration pages and supplies the currently open product, order, or post as context. Conversation and AI reasoning run through Gen-neuro, while the local plugin reads and changes WooCommerce data.
Requirements
- A Gen-neuro account and workspace.
- WordPress with WooCommerce enabled.
- Administrator access or the
manage_woocommercecapability. - A positive workspace token balance.
Create a private widget; public-widget quizzes, characters, domains, and embed code are not required.
Configure the assistant
In Workspace → Entities → Assistants, create an assistant and define its role, tone, language, restrictions, and content rules. Save it, then select the main conversation model and optional image or OCR models. Knowledge bases are useful for policies and stable reference material; current products, prices, stock, and orders should be read directly from WordPress tools.
Create the connection
Open Workspace → Widgets, create a widget, choose Private mode, attach the assistant, enable the required tools, and save. In the Access tab copy the Widget ID, API base URL, and management secret. Treat the secret like a password.
Install the WordPress plugin
- Download the ZIP from this page.
- In WordPress open Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
- Upload, install, and activate it.
- Open the GEN Admin settings page and enter the API base URL, Widget ID, and management secret.
- Save and run the connection test.
Using GEN Admin
The Chat tab handles natural-language tasks. Tools contains structured quick actions. Sessions separate unrelated work. Context shows the current WordPress entity and available operations. Start a new session when switching to a different task or object.
Product tools cover descriptions, SEO, prices, stock, categories, featured images, galleries, creation, and batch updates. Order tools support lookup, summaries, filtering, and reviewed batch changes. Customer tools support lookup and managed field updates. Blog tools create and update posts, categories, tags, SEO, and illustrations.
Generation, limits, and safety
Configure a shared visual profile for consistent style and optional references. Choose whether to create a new image or edit an existing one. Generated media and AI requests consume workspace tokens; monitor the balance and model prices in the platform. Tool permissions, private credentials, server-side validation, and explicit confirmation protect store data.
Common issues
If the connection test fails, verify the API URL, Widget ID, management secret, private mode, and attached assistant. If the button is missing, confirm plugin activation, WooCommerce status, user permissions, and admin-page cache exclusions. If context is wrong, check the Context tab or specify the product SKU, order number, post ID, or customer details explicitly. If a tool is unavailable, enable it in the widget and verify the selected AI models and token balance.
